Aim

To have students understand the following: the fact that the four northern islands are inherent parts of Japanese territory; the fact that the Government of Japan is requesting that Russia, which continues to illegally occupy the islands, return them; and the background to the above / To have students consider an ideal resolution to the Northern Territory issue and specific measures for it, based on close relations between the two nations, including in economy, and to have students take a perspective that allows them to recognize international issues from a broad perspective
